About Us

Captain Wes has over forty years of experience fishing the waters of Alaska. Born and raised in Washington State, he started fishing summers in Alaska in 1968. His love of the ocean and the challenges of fishing drew him to move to Alaska in 1971. Over the years, he has worked in various fisheries on the east coast and Alaska, including Dungeness, King Crab, shrimp, tuna, and salmon. Wes supports sustainable fisheries and was a board member of the United Cook Inlet Drift Association for six years.
During Alaska’s long winters, Wes refereed high school basketball for 25 years, retiring recently.
The F/V Night’s Edge is a 38’ long, 14’ wide aluminum “bow picker” powered by two 4V Mercruisers with a combined horsepower of 740 and two Bravo 2 outdrives. An extremely seaworthy boat, the F/V Night’s Edge cruises at 18-20 knots (approximately 23 mph). There are nine fish-holds with approximately 17,000 lbs. capacity.
